Sumita Gnanarajah was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 15th October 1992 after having completed her pupillage at Messrs Shearn Delamore & Co. She then served with Messrs Lobo & Associates and Messrs A.Gnanarajah & Co; all established and renowned legal firms recognized as significant leaders in their respective fields of law, before finally merging her legal chambers of Sumita & Associates with the law practice of Messrs Rusmah Arunan & Associates where she has been a Senior Partner since 2007.
Having gained considerable experience encompassing a broad spectrum of litigation, Sumita’s forte lies in litigating the following areas of law, among others Industrial Relations & Employment, Divorce, Joint Management Bodies / Management Corporations (stratified development), Contract and Defamation.
Sumita also regularly deals with civil execution proceedings by way of judgment debtor summonses, winding up, writs of seizure and sale, garnishee proceedings and contempt of court.
All in all, Sumita’s considerable experience of more than 20 years in active ‘litigious’ practice ensures her ability to predict, pre-empt, negotiate, resolve and conduct any legal dispute arising in her chosen fields of practice which also include specialized agreements, conveyancing, and debt recovery.
